She was reportedly upset over her love relationship with a man from other caste Ulhasnagar: In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across Ulhasnagar, a mother allegedly strangled her 19-year-old daughter to death after opposing her relationship with a young man from another caste. According to the police, the accused, identified as Asha Garad, allegedly killed her daughter Amruta Garad in a fit of rage when the latter was preparing to leave home with the man she was in a relationship with. The accused has been arrested by Ulhasnagar Police Station No. 1, and further investigation is underway. According to the police, the incident took place at Bhaiyyasaheb Ambedkar Nagar in Ulhasnagar Camp No. 1, where Amruta Garad lived with her family. She was reportedly in a relationship with a young man from another caste who resided in the same neighbourhood. Her mother strongly opposed the relationship and had repeatedly tried to convince her to end it. However, Amruta remained firm in her decision. Police said that at around 1:30 am on Sunday night, a heated argument broke out between the mother and daughter while Amruta's father and two brothers were asleep in the house. Following the argument, Amruta was allegedly preparing to leave home with the young man. At that moment, Asha Garad allegedly used a scarf to strangle her daughter, resulting in her death on the spot. After the incident, Amruta's father approached Ulhasnagar Police Station No. 1 and informed the police about the incident. Police immediately reached the spot, conducted a panchnama, and sent the body to the Central Hospital, Ulhasnagar, for post-mortem examination. Based on the preliminary investigation, police registered a case against Asha Garad and arrested her. The incident, in which a mother allegedly killed her own daughter, has created widespread shock in the Ulhasnagar area. Further investigation is being carried out by officers of Ulhasnagar Police Station No. 1. While speaking to ‘The Perfect Voice’, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Gore said that the 19-year-old woman's mother was opposed to her love marriage. Following an argument, the mother allegedly killed her daughter in a fit of rage. A case has been registered at Ulhasnagar Police Station No. 1, the accused woman has been arrested, and further investigation is in progress.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Elon Musk, world's richest person with a strong influence in the US administration, on Friday as they discussed the immense potential for collaboration in areas of technology and innovation.


Modi said on X after speaking to Musk, whose business empire includes Tesla and SpaceX, that they discussed various issues.


"Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation," he said.


Modi added, "India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains."


Musk is considered one of the most influential persons in the Donald Trump administration and is spearheading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) aimed at cutting government expenditure and reducing federal workforce.
